[ This is a look sent your way: one that is taking in the whole look of you, quietly assessing if you've exerted yourself more than necessary, and teetering between "so incredibly tempted to take you up on that" and "no, it's okay, it can wait".

You made him a ring when he hadn't expected anything in return. You walked here to deliver it to him yourself and had looked the picture of patting-yourself-on-the-back for a job well done while being incredibly irresistible and adorable about it.

Have a kiss -- long, lazy, sweet -- before he draws back and smiles at you with his heart in his eyes. ]

[ You have a nice hotel room still booked in your names. It also has a very nice bed. ]

[ There's genuine concern underscoring his words as he tightens the arm he has around your waist. ]

Because if it will, I can ring us up a cab right now and I will gladly put up with you torturing me on the way over.

[ Give him a moment to catch your chin with his fingers and tip your face up so he can look right into your eyes.

There's a smile tugging faintly at the corner of his mouth, because it's really great, holding you like this and keeping you near enough that it's like every line of your body is perfectly fitted up against his own. ]

Okay. [ He leans in to kiss your mouth lightly. ] You okay with maybe just flopping around in bed and ordering room service?

I want to make the most of tonight.

[ And this time, it's his turn to lean in and kiss you. ]

I'm more than okay with that.

[ Hell, if the two of you could just do that for the next week or so, everything would be perfect.

It sucks having to be responsible. ]

[ And while you're thinking that, he'll take that kiss and rest his forehead against yours when you finally break away.

What he would give for just a week where the world could do without the both of you. You just both got engaged, there should be allowances for you guys to actually enjoy it, yeah? ]

Lead the way, babe. [ Murmuring that against your cheek, nose pressed into your skin. He'll let go of you if you ask him to. In the meantime, his arm is staying right where it is. ]

[ He takes another moment out to just bask in the way it feels to have you this close before he's kissing you on the cheek, taking you by the hand and tugging you up. ]

Pack your things? If there's anything you plan on bringing over there, anyway.

[ He's good, at any rate. =w= ]

[ He nuzzles your cheek quickly before he draws away to pack his gear back in the satchel he always takes with him. It doesn't take more than a minute or so, and then he's stepping back towards you and draping an arm around your shoulders. ]

By the way, [ yes, he has the good sense to look sheepish. ] Your mom's kind of really scary.

[ His tone is light though. Kasumi Aoi is a formidable woman that make his mom look tame for all Angela Brennan's commanding stature as a military woman. ]

[ While you were occupying yourself with that, your boy was drawing a doorway in mid-air. Once the spell took hold, you're going to see that it looks exactly like the door to your hotel room.

That might be because it is. Using a portal in this fashion puts a lot less of a strain on him than Bloodwalking at this point. ]

[ Saying that dryly as he's getting his keycard. ]

[ Anything that does not strain you is OK in his book; so, incredibly, very okay.

He'll reach for the knob and wait for you to swipe that card, his free hand settling on the small of your back. ]

She wants grandchildren.

[ No sense beating around the bush. Hearing that from the Mother of the Wolf was nervewracking, to say the least. ]

[ Blinking at you from over his shoulder for a bit, and then chuckling.

W e l p. ]

I'm not surprised to hear that.

[ One swipe, and then he's tugging you inside. The room is tidy again, although it isn't because room service went through it. Hikaru did. ]

[ He's closing the door behind you both and then coming up behind you to wrap his arms around your shoulders and nuzzle your ear. It's nice, being back here. It's a hotel suite and not a room that belongs to either of you, but given how last night went down it's safe to say that you've both made it your space. ]

Would you be okay with that? [ He ventures softly, curiosity getting the better of him. ] All hypothetical, of course.

[ He adds that shortly after. He won't really pursue to the topic. It's a touchy subject, he knows. You both also don't have as much time as most people do. ]

[ And instinctively relaxing against your body, perfectly content to soak up the warmth of your skin and the solidity of your presence close at hand. There's a thoughtful noise at your question, then a quiet answer in the moments that follow. ]

I would be, actually. [ He's surprised by this, by the way. ] I think, though, that at the end of it all, I'm more worried about what being my children may end up doing to them, though.

[ Because he's certain you'll be great. If anything fucks up, it's probably going to be on any number of things that point back to him. ]

[ That is enough to let him know that now is not the time to pursue the subject at length. Which is fine, really. You'll be able to tell by the way his embrace tightens just a fraction -- a gesture of reassurance and understanding.

You said you're okay with having kids with him. The possibility is not as off-the-table as he had initially presumed. ]

That's a relief. [ Nuzzling your cheek playfully now, in order to bring the potentially heavy conversation down to a comfortable close. He's also loosening his arms and turning you around so he can murmur this over your mouth: ]

Because I'm totally okay with having your babies.

[ Yes. That was a really, really cheesy and awful line. Please don't tell him you don't want to marry him anymore. He just really wanted to make you laugh. ]

Well, Mr. LaRue -- [ As he's craning his neck up in order to pierce you with a Look against your cheek ] don't you think that between you and I, I might be the one having your babies?

[ Because he totally can, if you let him. ]

[ Has he ever told you that when you laugh -- it kind of does a number on his heart?

Pressing a kiss to your brow now and biting back a grin. ]

Well, it's a good thing that I saw pamphlets for couples like us. So you know, neither of us has to through the nine months.

[ Nope. Didn't catch the implication. Sorry, babe. He's a bit thick in the head where it concerns that little Bladian trick about gender-switching. ]

[ Somehow he is not surprised to see that his comment flew right over your head.

So I guess it's Vice science babies for us, then?

[ Jessie is going to preen. ]

[ The look in his eyes softens the moment you say that and he lifts a hand to cup your cheek, pausing for what seems like long enough before he leans in to press his lips to yours. ]

As long as I'm with you.

[ That's the most important part, really. Sure, he'd like kids, it's been on his mind a while, but at the end of everything, as long as you're with him, everything's good. ]

Right, okay. I think I really should get out of this.

[ He's still soaking wet, and now some of that has gotten on your clothes and your skin. ]

[ Have a kiss on the forehead before he lets you go, turning easily towards the phone on the bedside table. ]

[ Flipping through the room service menu, at that. There's a restaurant downstairs, but you two have a nice, spacious suite. Seems a shame to not make the most of it. ]
