You go do that, I'll order us dinner. Any preferences?

[ Flipping through the room service menu, at that. There's a restaurant downstairs, but you two have a nice, spacious suite. Seems a shame to not make the most of it. ]

[ Because the last time you guys had that was way back in that house in Kibo, when he had needed you to help him shut down this one earnest not-really-former-anything at all. ]

Lots and lots of Chinese.

[ FYI: he's starving. And he's also already stripping and casually discarding everything that he's wearing on the way to the bathroom. ]

[ FYI: He's considering joining you in that shower for a moment -- but, food first. And you need it more than he does given that you'd walked in the rain.

You'll hear him ring up the concierge, the low and polite tones on his end as he asks if room so-and-so could have these plates delivered up, orders for two, thanks, and to just charge it to Joshua LaRue's card. You'll hear him padding around after that: shoes kicked off and then picked up, coat shrugged off before the rustling of clothes tells you that he's changing into something a bit more comfortable. There'll also be the scent of a pot of coffee being put on, followed by the low buzz of the television turned down as he browses through the news.

He's remembered, you see, in doing the easy routine of moving around in a shared space, that he has one more thing he'd like to discuss with you. ]

[ And what you'll hear from your boy's end are the sounds of him in that stall, washing off all the stress and effort he applied himself towards while you were at work. He doesn't take too long, though, and within ten minutes he's padding out of the bathroom and toweling his hair dry. He does not have a shirt on.

Flopping down beside you, wherever you happen to be. Is the smile he's flashing up at you bright and maybe a little dorky? Yep. ]

[ His arm reaches for you instinctively, even as his free hand turns the sound down. There isn't anything particularly interesting on the news tonight, just coverage of what he managed to gather are the yearly practices of the locals to celebrate loved ones who have passed away. It was interesting, seeing footage of graves covered with flowers, laid out with booze and cards while the living sat around in groups. ]

Hey, you. [ He murmurs that as he steals a kiss from your mouth, leaning in shortly after to press his nose against your bare shoulder. ] You smell nice.

[ Then again, when don't you? ]

I should probably shower in a bit. Been in my suit the whole day.

You probably should, if only because you deserve to kick back already.

[ You do look really good in Rhiannon colors, though.

...Anyway, peering over at the telly. What were you watching. o3o ]

[ A chuckle as he leans back into his seat to give you better room to look. ]

It was just a news special.

[ Reaching up at that to brush a few stray damp strands from your eyes. ]

I'll shower in a bit... I just want to ask you something first.

[ Blinking up at, as he's going for his cigarettes. Curiosity satisfied for now, and all. ]

[ He presses his lips together, recalling the information that Tala and Selene had passed on about things that they would need to do once setting foot in Arcadia.

The option to ask Fortuna is a good one, but he's marrying you. He wants to make the most of what you two could have together and he's willing to take risks. ]

Tala and Selene said... that we had to have a proxy. And I was wondering... if you would be okay with being mine.

[ He says that quietly and carefully, a small smile on his lips. ]

[ Oh...

Not responding immediately, although you will note how the look on his face shifts to something that is a mix of curiosity, mild surprise, and a bit of concern. ]

They did tell you what having one of the Gentry as your proxy might entail, I hope?

It was. [ What he gets is the gist of it anyway. He wasn't going to dissuade Kaz from wanting you as his proxy. The kid fairly adores you like a little brother his elder sibling. And besides, better you or Fortuna than anyone else.

He reaches over and slips his hand over yours, fingers brushing over the ring on your finger. ]

I trust you and I love you.

[ Squeezing your hand, then, and smiling much easier all over again before he's shifting in close enough to plop his head down on your shoulder. ]

[ He's honestly touched by the fact that you want to do this. He's also worried, yes, but he isn't about to do you a disservice by protesting further. Besides, he trusts you a hell lot too. ]

[ You're getting a kiss dropped to the top of your head, Hikaru Shinta, and that's accompanied by him gently squeezing your hand in return before he tangles your fingers together. ]

It would be weird you know. [ Going for something a little less heavy -- which this is, yes. But still. ] Having someone other than my fiancee in my headspace. Barring already present company.

I do solemnly swear not to look at your thoughts too often.

[ Pausing, just for dramatic effect. ]

Unless they're incriminating, or deliciously green.

[ And then he's nuzzling your temple, arm coming around your shoulders to hold you close for all of three seconds before he loosens his embrace. ]

I'll go shower quick. [ A beat. ] Dinner should be on it's way up soon.

[ Leaning in to plant a quick one on your lips, and then finally going for that cigarette. ]
