His condition allows him to retain the memories and skills of all of his previous lives, making him a formidable figure to deal with across the board even with the limitations that have been placed upon him. A deeper study of Hikaru’s attitude and disposition appear to point towards a strong tendency to martyr himself for his beliefs. He is self-destructive and fatalistic precisely because he believes that he has no inherent value, as if his entire existence is an affront to his own principles. Whether this is something he will unlearn or not, particularly with the assistance of those closest to him, remains to be seen.
