Waking the Dead 2.0 || August 27, 2063 || Saturday

[He told you to rest because you all definitely need it, and he plans on staying around in the Tower to make sure that happens.
Granted, he's also around to check up on you if you really can't sleep, and his sister's doing the same thing. So.]
OOC Notes:
+ Hikaru will be in to watch over you all and talk up until 8 PM; he goes on duty early, then comes right back to the Tower to see Josh because boyfriend time is a Thing. Setsuna will be around the entire day.
+ Feel free, as always, to start your own threads here.
OTA
Shit just went down, but, as always, the Blade King is available for whoever needs him, wherever he is.]
Re: OTA
[ Pinky promise, after all. Now's a good time as any, by Yulia's watch, since everyone's gone off doing their own thing. ]
Not a drunken one. [ She's not drunk, this time, though they've had drinks with the boys. Blame Saxon and Breton for the other day, alright?? ]
no subject
Yeah, I believe you do.
[Sliding over to make room for you on the couch, if you'll take it.]
no subject
There's a shy smile on her lips; she's not used to this, okay? But she's trying. ]
I probably already said this, but-- it is good to have you back.

What's wrong?
[It's a good thing he's got several tall bottles of really fine stuff with him right now.]

Did... did Amadeus use people's nightmares against them when you knew him? [ He remembers the Chief reading through the file and telling them that he may have been the reason for the myth of the Boogieman ]

Feel free to talk to her. That is what she's here for today.]
no subject
Thank you. Um... I kind of heard that you suggested that the Vucari be sent to Bamiyan that one time, and it kind of coincided with my walk.
no subject
No need to thank me. It was meant to happen.
[Only not really. She might have given things a slight push...
Hee.]
no subject
[ He means it. He's happy you're here, but the circumstances that brought you back to Falner... That's a weight on his mind right now. Too many coincidences, or at least, he thinks so. ]

For Hikaru. Because Things.
He's just finished with a shower when you come in: hair still wet, flopped down in bed wearing a white shirt and a pair of boxer shorts, one arm draped over his eyes. ]

-- and he's not quite coming in. He's actually just cracking the door open, blinking once when he sees you, and smiling. Or trying to.]
Hey. Sorry to disturb you.
no subject
Hey, it's okay.
[ Everything about his body language boils down to one thing, and he'll voice it too. ] You don't have to ask for permission to come in.
[ His space is your space, okay? ]
no subject
[And while that's supposed to be a typically witty response geared towards making you see that he's okay, you're probably going to note that he's not moving nearly as fast or as casual as he should to comply. You'll definitely see how he just shuts the door behind him and... stays there.]
I've got to go on duty tonight. Just wanted to give you the head's up.

Some moments later, Taning sticks a head over the ledge and sees you. His face is, well, the sort of comically burnt black usually only reserved for bad comedies. And his hair is sticking out every which way.
Once he spots you:]
Didn't get hit by anything, did you? Sorry about that! And don't touch those globs!
no subject
No, didn't get hit. [ click And the safety on his guns go back on.]
What are you doing up there?
no subject
I'll fix that... [He sighs.] I'm trying to enchant some alloys we could use. I guess I'm... too distracted to do it, just now.

What he's doing on the roof, well... he's doing magic experiments. He's appropriated a corner of the roof where he has set up tables and stuff. Yes, he is attempting to develop new magic to kill things with. He's trying to do it without using Forces magic too much.
This is what he looks like when he feels powerless.
Feel free to bug him, though. He can even be persuaded to leave the roof and do fun things, but do note that he does find this fun.]
For Yulia, because reasons
You can walk in on this anytime, Yulia; because he has Omnivision and Celestial Telescope on, he'll raise a hand in greeting as soon as you emerge on the roof.]
shouldn't this be on the 26th though x:
Or at least that was the plan; she didn't account for Taning to be on the roof deck at that point. ]
Not doing your... nightly thing? [ She refuses to call it his "Batman" rounds. ]
you're... probably right? huhu
He hears, more than sees, you come in; when you address him, he looks up and gives you a friendly-enough smile, a step up from polite, but a step down from familiar.]
Oh, it's actually a weekly thing, and no, not tonight. Eh, it's just petty criminals tonight anyway, they'll keep. [Sees the beer in your hand, then looks back down at the experiments he's conducting.] Don't mind me, the noisy part of the experiment is over, you can drink in peace.
[He'd join you, actually. But by now he understands your need for space, even if that understanding only translates to respect fifty percent of the time.
Besides, he doesn't really know what to talk to you about. He'll only bore you if he talked about the things he's doing these days.]
no subject
[ It's so dismissive, it probably hurts. She walks straight to the railing and leans against it as she drinks, looking out at the city. She's quiet, as usual, doesn't say much or does anything to converse. Until it starts feeling awkward.
She shifts and takes another swig from her beer. She knows why she feels uncomfortable, and it's mostly her fault. Okay, definitely her fault. She knows this, she saw the way he looked at her the day before yesterday, when he offered to help. Anya hadn't said anything about it, but she felt her disappointment. Could still feel it, now that she was thinking about it.
She swirls her drink in its bottle, sighing.
(Say it already.)
Yulia sighs again. And takes another drink from the bottle-- liquid courage, or whatever they called it. ]

[ (Yulia.) ]
Sorry.
