That ends, of course, with you curled up on your side on the couch because you weren't able to get to your bed in time. There is nothing, then, to hide the fact that you're crying into the sleeves of your shirt, into your arms and hands. Anyone who might have the (mis)fortune of seeing you will probably admire the fact that even while you're this far gone and that far down, you've still got enough in him to try and muffle the sound of your own sobbing. You'll try to stop and be better long before he comes around. You really, really will.
