Opening the door, Ariadne shuts it behind her but then immediately crouches down to greet Naoki, letting the cat sniff at her and then stroking him. ]

Hi there, buddy.

[ That's for the kitten. And- ]

Hey. Need a hand?

No, just your lovely company.

[ There's a stool that you can take right across of him while he's busy. Yes, that kitten is going to follow you everywhere while you're here. ]

Hope you didn't have a hard time finding this place.

I'm good with maps.

[ c: kitten. Do you like being picked up, Naoki? Because she's going to scoop you up and onto her lap for more attention. ]

And when I don't have a lot to do work-wise, I wander the city and draw, so I'm getting to know it pretty well.

[ NAOKI IS ONLY TOO HAPPY TO HAVE A LAP TO EXPLORE. (Unless it is Mae's. He doesn't like Mae all that much.) ]

Maybe I should get you to take a look at a project I've started, then. I've drawn the entirety of the city on a wall down here, as best as I could.

[ Naoki, be nice to Mae. ]

Why on a wall?

For the better scale, and because it's easier for me to do detective stuff on it. Most of the sketch was done using metal filaments, though, since that's easy for me to work with given what I want with the project.

[ He's pausing there though, and looking up as as he remembers something. ]

I don't think I ever told you, did I? I can control metal and blood, among other things.

Um. No, you left that out.

Blood specifically, or is it because of the metal in it?

A bit of both.

[ He looks thoughtful now as he goes back to preparing food for them. ]

I made a Bargain with a creature known as a Bloodsinger back in the day. It needed someone to be an extension of its will to feed itself, and I needed something that could give me the means to protect people that I cared about. Bloodsingers unlock the full potential of the human brain and body, and also have specific control over blood and metal.

So it's like... some sort of parasite, symbiotic relationship thing?

[ Or a funky vampire, she's not sure. ]

Precisely that. Trouble with the thing is that it's always hungry, though, and I'm only human.

[ Okay, first platter is done. Nudging that over to her, along with a nice pair of chopsticks, wasabi, soy sauce.

He be thorough. ]

So- what do you have to do to feed it? Do you still feel it here?

[ She should probably be less curious about parasites while eating, but. Oh well. ]

Also, you should know I'm not fantastic with chopsticks, so please try not to laugh at me too hard.

Yeah, I do. Mostly because we've hit a point where there's no real difference between the two of us anymore.

[ Then, with a smile: ]

Is that another thing I should teach you?

Does it have a name?

[ She laughs. ]

Well, it can't hurt. Probably.

Technically, he doesn't. I do call him my brother.

[ He's picking up his own pair of chopsticks now, and sliding one set towards Ariadne. ]

Huh.

[ She's honestly not sure what to ask -- she doesn't even know what she doesn't know. Instead, Ariadne picks up the chopsticks. ]

Here.

[ He's holding his chopsticks up in the proper fashion, just to show her how it ought to look. Then he's going to fish up a slice of sashimi and start dabbing it in some soy sauce before he pops it in his mouth. ]

[ And here is Ariadne trying to get the chopsticks in her hands the right away.

And then trying to click them together like they're claws or something. ]

[ Watching that, then, after an amused snort: ]

Let me.

[ ...Which ought to be asking for permission, but really, he's just leaning in and reaching over to help her. ]

[ Well, that works. Ariadne lets Hikaru mold her grip the way it needs to be, laughing a bit awkwardly. ]

[ There we go. =w= Yep, he's just going to lean back after studying his handiwork a moment, looking pleased with himself. ]

Try going for it now? I promise I'll catch whatever you drop and eat it for myself.

[ :3! ]

You'll have to beat Naoki to it, [ she points out, laughing.

But she tries again, and manages to get the piece of sushi in a grip. It's not a fantastic one, but it's a grip nonetheless. ]

There we go.

[ Yep, he's visibly pleased by this. ]

Takes practice, but if you and I are going to end up having a lot of dates like this in the future...

[ His door's always open for you. ]

Going to feed me sushi each time? I'll end up spoiled.

[ But she's clearly pleased too, both by her success with the chopsticks and by the idea. ]

I could, or I could find different ways of spoiling you each time.

[ That's complete with a wink. ]

See, now I'm going to be looking forward to that. Better pay up or I'll be disappointed.
