[Okay, THAT is catching his attention. He's turning around now, and the concern's in his eyes even if the rest of his expression has schooled over to show curiosity. Mostly.]

[ There's a quiet smile that doesn't quiet go all the way -- and mostly out of sheepishness. He's also rocking back a little on his heels before he turns his eyes to yours. ]

I... I missed this.

[ He does a brief gesture with one and: swing to you and back to him. You were friends first, before you became lovers. Somewhere along the way both of you had to somehow calibrate. There were bumps on the road and a couple of wrong turns, but things have been pretty good of late, and there's a sense of stability between you now. ]

[And even while he's naturally fitting the curves and angles of his body against yours and enjoying that kiss, he's distractedly thinking about how this is actually a little strange: you and him in this house, of all places. It isn't awkward, it isn't wrong. It's just strange.

He used to avoid this house. It had once been his place with Alistair's, their first real attempt at having some sort of grounding that wasn't Japan or Ireland, and a space they could honestly call their own that did not have their baggage. Then 2012 had seen their relationship reach heights that it had never reached before, then crash and burn completely even as he tried to hold on to it.

Now, though, in as much as he loves Alistair just as much as he loves you (or Makoto, or Aria, or Katherine, or Liandrin, or any of the others who have come before you), this space is yours with him. There are no ghosts tonight, even with the talk that the two of you are going to have to have.]

The conversation you're both going to be a part of will likely be heavy, and he's also realizing that if he touches you any more than he already has ( in that fashion, at least, ) he'll want to brand you with kisses all over. ]

[And that earns you an amused hum against your mouth, deep in his throat and lungs as he's kissing right back, and folding his body effortlessly against yours. The hand that was playing around with your card has deftly caught it between two fingers before it could slip to the floor.]

[He murmurs that over your lips before he breaks away - but not before nipping playfully at your bottom lip.

Moving off to make that call now. It won't take more than ten minutes, he's sure, and if the owner tries to chat him up, he can bail out of that easily.]

[ He's doing his best not to watch your every move as you dial up the restaurant to make that phone call. Feeling you that close had left him wanting, but there is a time for all things and tonight may unfortunately not be that.

He manages to gather his wits after the first two minutes, and then he walks right up to your side and drops a casual kiss on your shoulder before he silently lifts his pack to say he's stepping out a bit for a smoke.

When you wander out he'll be seated on the wooden bench, leaning back and watching the canopy of leaves overhead. ]

[To that first move of yours, he's glancing up at you just once and smiling as he's absentmindedly fending his contact's fumbled flirtations disguised in order taking off. He comes around to join you once he's done, with a bit of an eye roll and a plop of limbs right beside you.]

Food should be here in thirty minutes tops. The owner's delivering it personally, so I would love it if you came out with me to pick it up.

[Because few things can say no thanks the same way a living, breathing, adorably territorial boyfriend can.]

You might find it cute the way he's trying valiantly to untangle the knot of emotions that's causing his eyes to look as dark as they do. There's no reason for jealousy and he knows this, because it's never bothered him before. You have had people before him and long after he's gone there will be others and he will have faith that they will treat you well -- but here and now, you're his.

Two minutes tops, and he's sliding a smile your way as he rolls the back of his head along the rest of that bench. That's also his hand seeking yours and threading your fingers together. ]

[ He thinks he sounds casual. Thinks. ]

[The dismissive nature of his statement might seem out of place with how he pulls himself right in, right up against you, and kisses you full on the mouth. He saw the look in your eyes, and has had time to analyze the specific way you backed him up just moments earlier. So this is how he'll try to reassure you: a slow motion kiss, his fingers tightening just so against yours, and a smile as he's breaking away.]

I'm yours, and you are most welcome to be as territorial about it as you want to be.

[He'll never take it against you, and never get angry. He actually finds it very sweet. (Besides, it's not like he wouldn't get the same way under different circumstances...)]

[ That's a thumb tracing a line over your cheek, and his eyes faltering from yours as he takes all of that in. ]

I just... [ a sigh as his shoulders shrug, his hand still there on your cheek, keeping your faces close. ] I don't want you thinking that I get jealous for no reason. Because I understand where the attraction comes from -- hell, this is you. I'll admit it: you were right when you were trying to distract me about feeling sorry about myself over Rethe -- it crossed my mind [ a breath of hesitation ] the idea of what it would like to kiss you.

I just wasn't comfy with the idea because you were right across me and I thought you'd laugh in my face.

[ He had also been content to shelve it and then subsequently believe that it was the bleed between Makoto and himself, particularly after that little flash of memory at King's Rest. ]
