Waking the Dead 2.0 || August 19, 2063 || Friday

[This one disappears for about thirty minutes, and returns as quietly as he left with two briefcases. He doesn't explain where he went, but from how he ducks into Hikaru's room for about fifteen minutes after that, it can probably be inferred that he fetched a few things from Falner.
Looks like he'll be staying at the Tower while he has taken control of his Brother's body. You're usually going to spot him hovering around, smoking, working through a glass of rum, eyes crimson-ringed and glowing oddly in all lights (or lack thereof) watching... who knows what he's watching? And that suit he's wearing - three-piece, black, pin-striped, with ghostly faces and smoke occasionally moving over the "fabric" - is pretty nice, creepiness aside.
Please excuse him if you find him suddenly popping in on you. It's just what he does.]
OOC Notes:
+ Drop starters as you please! I'll have Death haunt you accordingly. ♥
+ Feel free to do other stuff among yourselves here as well.
+ Do note that Makoto's out and solid for this evening too, so you can bug him or ping me if you want him to come around and bother you.

[He's learning, at any rate. As things stand, it's remarkable that the embodiment of an Endless Concept could look for cigarettes. He's lighting up right now, in fact.]
You are not with the others. Why?

[ He takes a drag of his cigarette ]
I like to think alone sometimes. The rhythm of the world is nice company. It's all I used to have really. So I pay my respects to it every now and then.

The song of the world is a beautiful one. Few, however, bother to listen to its entirety, or realize that they are an active part of it.
Does that thoughtful noise sound like Kasumi's thoughtful noise?:D :))
It's all I've ever done for the better part of my life; tried to find my place in it, and understand it while I go along. [ He'd like to think the song is getting clearer too. He's had a lot of help from a lot of people. ]
Come to think of it, it probably does. XD
[Brother Wolf did tell Him that He has to learn how to give credit where credit's due...]
Ahmagahd! Must toggle that somehow if ever he does it again.:))
lmfao okay!
[He is quiet for a moment, choosing to turn his gaze towards the city.]
I believe that it is enough to have just a few who know how to believe in themselves, or in the rest of your species. They are the ones who tend to become the movers, even if they do not mean to be.

[ Brig, truthfully, likes to believe that he is both. That they are not mutually exclusive ]
Or did you mean all of us Mortals in general?
[ Because an Abstract seeing them all as inherently the same has crossed his mind ]

[Taking another drag.]
The greatest strength the lot of you possess is potential, but it is easy to waste that.

What are the worst ways you've seen life wasted, Brother?
[ He is genuinely curious. This is a font of knowledge and wisdom sitting a ways from him. A timeless being with perspectives people possibly couldn't even imagine. ]

[Brother Wolf would be the better judge. He actually has Words on the matter, and Feelings. Death is different. (Or so he likes to believe.]

There are many who are frozen by uncertainty. Humans who have faced great adversity have the tendency to stop trying, for fear of being unable to handle whatever comes next.
[Drag, exhale.]
It is trying, though, that allows your species to learn and grow. To stop trying is similar to simply deciding to let me take you.

Yeah, [ He remembers some soldiers who would just freeze on the middle of the field. Some who'd just take their own lives. It's heavy in the chest and it's not the smoke. He tries to blow the feeling out. It's still there ] giving up is easy.
[ A short pause and he adds ] I'd like to believe people [ finite beings ] are good-natured enough though, to help pull their fellows up when they think they're at their ropes end.

So you believe that goodness is the natural - the proper - way of things?
[You are more interesting to talk to than he had originally believed you would be.]

After everything I've seen and been through in my short-lived life, I hold onto the belief that the world and its people are inherently good.

[It is a valid query, in Death's eyes. Brigade, to his understanding, is the exception to the rule.]
