Waking the Dead 2.0 || August 19, 2063 || Friday

[This one disappears for about thirty minutes, and returns as quietly as he left with two briefcases. He doesn't explain where he went, but from how he ducks into Hikaru's room for about fifteen minutes after that, it can probably be inferred that he fetched a few things from Falner.
Looks like he'll be staying at the Tower while he has taken control of his Brother's body. You're usually going to spot him hovering around, smoking, working through a glass of rum, eyes crimson-ringed and glowing oddly in all lights (or lack thereof) watching... who knows what he's watching? And that suit he's wearing - three-piece, black, pin-striped, with ghostly faces and smoke occasionally moving over the "fabric" - is pretty nice, creepiness aside.
Please excuse him if you find him suddenly popping in on you. It's just what he does.]
OOC Notes:
+ Drop starters as you please! I'll have Death haunt you accordingly. ♥
+ Feel free to do other stuff among yourselves here as well.
+ Do note that Makoto's out and solid for this evening too, so you can bug him or ping me if you want him to come around and bother you.

It's not that she doesn't trust Taning with his magic, it's just that he's such a goddamn troll that she expects it to do something ridiculous if she even thinks of lying down.
She... she'll need to do furniture shopping soon. Definitely.
(Death--anyone--can totally drop in, the door's wide open.) ]
because more cr for these two is a thing?
I'll take you shopping.
[ Yep. He's smiling. Sorry, not really sorry. ]
I still owe you a new dress.
all the cr

[ He's twirling a long-stemmed, blue rose in his hand. After the Chief left, he had one last one delivered to the Tower's lobby instead of to the Tower itself. ]

Except Yulia takes all of ten minutes to reply after receiving and reading the text. ] [ Shit. She said she'd be there soon. Calm the fuck down, Yulia. It's just Brigade. Maybe he'll bore you to death by talking and you could stab him again? Let's get this over with. ]

For Death, well after everyone's probably gone to bed.
The last forty-eight hours have been eventful, and the last time he and Hikaru were here, they hadn't exactly had time to get ready, do a quick clear of the things that were scattered all around before finally heading out the door. ]
no subject
We need to talk.
[It must be eerie, hearing Hikaru talk and knowing that it isn't Hikaru.]
no subject
As it is, he was just about to put the reels away. He was thinking of watching a little more of Kurosawa, but Hikaru isn't around and that was a thing they'd started and it only feels right that he wait until his boyfriend gets back. ]
Uh... sure? [ He gestures towards the general area of the room. There are a couple of pillows on the floor and a small couch off to the side with the football Kaz gave him months sitting by it's lonesome, but other than that -- the only other piece of furniture to sit in is most definitely that bed of his. ]
Feel free to sit. I'm just putting these away.
[ The room is nice, though he hasn't spend enough time in it. His shelves are also empty, but he'll get to that eventually. ]

shenanigans!
[ He's seen you catch a pigskin even when it's thrown from out of nowhere. He remembers you catch the pigskin gift he tossed at you during your birthday. He doesn't have one on him now, but he does have a cute yellow ball with him that he'd bought at one of those side street tiangges he'd come across during the break. Are you ready for a thrown object of a different shape and size?
Catch it, Brennan. It's coming from above, from the direction of the roofdeck staircase. It looks something like this:
And when you turn it around, it looks like this:
open post!
Further proving the wisdom of Lia's decision to bench the Hounds, Taning is actually, for the first time in what feels like a while, quite relaxed. Not that anyone would know this tell (except maybe Sabina?), but when he's relaxed he's actually much, much less of a troll.
As it is, he is flicking his index finger at the ceiling, watching as he sends thin, almost insubstantial forks of electricity, cinders, and ripples of force into the air.
Looks like he'll have to agree with Kitty on one point: Obrimos light shows are pretty. And distracting, so anyone can just pop in anytime.]
no subject
[That statement's coming from directly behind you.
Yep.]
no subject
Slightly ruffled, he turns to address Death Incarnate.]
Hello, Brother Death. Oh, and no, I just find that it helps me to think. I didn't know that it did as late as a few months ago.

Bro CR! After Taning talks with Death maybe?:)
High Wizard Taning and his beautiful light shows. All you need now is an audience of children.
[ And since there are no children, no K, this overgrown 122-year-old Promethea(ma)n will play proxy. He puts down two bottles of Pale Pilsen in front of you and settles himself on one of the couches, a Corona in hand ]
Makes me contemplate learning Vulcanus' transmutations, just so I can make a semblance of your light shows for K when you aren't around.

He approaches from behind and bumps him playfully on his arm. ]
Looks like I'm not the only one who felt like thinkey-thinkey time.
[ He puts his six pack down, opens one, swigs, then lights up a cigarette. ]

Open to All!
He regularly stocks Kaz's fridge when he drops by the tower. He knows Kaz keeps alcohol stocked but with the amounts he drinks, he's courteous enough to bring his own beer.
He's had lots of time over the one-month benching to explore a more "mundane", yet more important, side of life. His thoughts occasionally settle on his family, the Hounds, and his friends and acquiantances here and there in the Vigil.
But the engagement with Jason Todd, the training session with the Chief, Yulia's confession to him of a Created killing her Blade (and theories of how it may somehow by connected to the loss of Kaien and the appearance of Transmutation-wielding Grendal operatives), and the impending arrival of Brother Death's Hour have pushed combat back to the forefront of his thoughts. Combat strategies and the direction of his personal growth as a Promethean Hunter are running through his mind.
I will be strong enough to protect them all. ]
This means that this thread takes place before Death starts talking to everyone else.
Brigade.
[He is carrying those two suitcases mentioned above. He was... out, earlier. You might not have even noticed that he left, since he's such a quiet guy. Or did you?]

For Makoto, post convo with Brother Death
Based on previous experience listening to his boys' love problems back in college, he gets that losing sleep is a thing where it concerns significant others -- but this is kind of ridiculous. ]

Yeah, for serious. You're both still joined to the brain, and he can totally sense what you're doing there. As such, you're alone for about five minutes flat before this one's knocking once, then peeking in through the open door.
